A director of housekeeping for a Madison retirement care center called Dave D'Orazio - owner of Capital City Cleaning & Supply - and said, "I was just inspected by the State and I have all these deficiencies and I was told that if I didn't find somebody to help me, I was going to lose my job."
Dave carefully read the State Inspection Report, then "followed the trail." He went room by room to the places that the inspector found unsatisfactory.
Dave then created a plan to manage the process of bringing the retirement care center up to a higher standard:
When the state inspector returned fourteen months after Dave's program was initiated, the Madison retirement care center had ZERO deficiencies. Because Dave re-directed the staff's focus on performing the tasks correctly and efficiently according to best practices, patients and staff enjoyed a safe, sanitary environment.
